Privacy Policy


For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR") and UK data protection laws, the controller is Donna Jane Morley,  of (the “Venue”) 51 Hamilton Way, Westhampnett, Chichester, PO18 0GG

This privacy policy sets out the way your personal data will be processed. and has been created to make sure clients are aware of how I use their data.

I may collect your personal data in a few limited ways, namely:

  • Directly from you, when you fill in an application for lessons, when you make enquiries on the website, when you provide information via the Venue's management software or booking system, or when you interact with me during your time as a student or parent/guardian in various other ways (for example, where you enter an exam/competition).
  • From someone else who has applied for lessons on your behalf (for example a family member (parent/guardian) who has provided me with your contact details for that purpose)

I may collect the following types of personal data:

  • Contact and communications information, including your contact details (including email address(es), telephone numbers and postal address(es) and records of communications and interactions.
  • Financial information, including records of payment.
  • Certain other information which you may volunteer e.g data about medical conditions

Personal data provided to me will be used for the purposes set out at the time of collection and, where relevant, in accordance with any preferences you express.

All the personal data I hold about you will be processed by Donna Jane Morley in the UK. 

Some information may also be shared with the following third-party organisations as needed:

  • MyMusicStaff.com  (The information is stored electronically through MyMusicStaff, a specialist software platform for music teachers. Further information on how MyMusicStaff handles data privacy can be found at https://www.mymusicstaff.com/privacy-policy/)
  • Accountant
  • Bank
  • Examination Boards
  • Research and statistical analysis about who is taking lessons
  • Communication about musical activities that I think may be of interest to you

No other third parties will have access to your personal data unless there is a legal obligation for me to provide it.  I will take all reasonable steps to ensure that your personal data is processed securely.

 I will generally keep your personal data for a minimum of 6 years, after which time it will be destroyed if it is no longer required for the lawful purpose(s) for which it was obtained.

I will always respect your wishes in respect of what type of communications you want to receive from me and how you want to receive them. There are some communications, however, that I need to send you via email regardless of your marketing preferences in order for me to fulfil my contractual obligations to you as a member of the Venue. Examples of these essential service communications are:

  • Records of transactions, such as payment receipts
  • Membership/lesson related mailings such as reminders, notices of forthcoming events and information.

Payment card or bank details are not stored by Donna Jane Morley but details of who has paid, any monies outstanding etc are kept in order to manage accounts and send invoices. Payment can be made via BACS transfer.

You have the right to request that your data is amended or deleted at any time.  You also have the responsibility for ensuring the data I hold is accurate and current.
